Mark Crawford is an actor and playwright. He's performed across the country--from big fancy theatres with red velvet seats to elementary school gyms in Northern Ontario. As a writer, his plays are: Stag and Doe; Bed and Breakfast; The Birds and the Bees; Boys, Girls, and Other Mythological Creatures; and The New Canadian Curling Club. His work has been produced from coast to coast, and as far away as Poland and New Zealand. Most recently, he wrote an audio drama titled Don't Get Me Startered about a pandemic-era sourdough starter that takes on a life of its own. (Available now on CBC podcast's PlayME...check it out!) He's hard at work on a new play and is excited to develop it as a member of the Alberta Theatre Projects' 20/21 Playwrights' Unit. Mark grew up on his family's beef farm near Glencoe, Ontario, studied theatre at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, and now lives in Stratford with his partner Paul Dunn. He is grateful to live in this beautiful community and feels right at home when there's a whiff of pig shit in the air.
